Estoy de vuelta de nuestro viaje a Marrakech y coneste post doy comienzo a mi guía sobre la ciudad! Sabéis que me encanta hacerlo siempre que viajo, y además esta vez muchas me habéis escrito diciéndome que pronto visitaréis la ciudad o que os gustaría hacerlo y que tenéis dudas o queréis conocer mi experiencia, así que allá vamos!!
Esta vez voy a dividir los posts por temáticas, en este os hablaré sobre cuestiones generales, alojamiento y consejos. En los siguientes me centraré en lugares que visitar, excrusiones, anécdotas,…
Para viajar a Marrakech tenéis muchas opciones de vuelos disponibles, además debéis tener en cuenta que hacen ofertas frecuentemente, así que podéis encontrar verdaderos chollos.
Desde Madrid el vuelo dura unas dos horas, la moneda oficial es el dirham marroquí, podéis llevar dinero cambiado o cambiarlo allí en el mismo aeropuerto. La mayoría de la gente allí habla árabe y francés, aunque muchos también entienden inglés e incluso algo de español. Comunicarnos no fue un problema, la gente tiene muy buena predisposición y siempre nos lo pusieron muy fácil!
Al ser otro continente las tarifas móviles no suelen aplicar como en España, lo que yo hice fue comprarme allí una tarjeta SIM prepago, cuesta cada GB a un euro, y el mínimo creo que son 10€. Así os aseguráis estar conectados y disponer siempre de google maps!
Tema orientación, nosotras no nos perdimos ni una vez (cosa sorprendente la verdad jaja). Teníamos google maps y Fatima, la dueña de nuestro riad, nos indicó perfectamente como llegar a la plaza, nos lo aprendimos y desde ahí siempre resultaba todo más sencillo.
Dicen que es muy común que la gente te intente guiar o que te indique mal alguna información sobre monumentos o lugares de interés, en ese sentido nosotras tuvimos mucha suerte porque no nos pasó ninguna de las dos cosas.
A la hora de elegir vuestro alojamiento os recomiendo tener en cuenta distintos factores. Si queréis empaparos del espíritu de Marruecos, os recomiendo elegir un riad, verdaderamente tendréis todos los viajes del mundo para elegir un hotel al uso. El riad es lo quepodría ser para nosotros una especie de hotel boutique. Son verdaderos palacios. En ellos, además de encontrar un ambiente 100 % marroquí disfrutaréis de la hospitalidad de los caseros y la tranquilidad de un alojamiento más pequeño.
Nosotras queríamos alojarnos en el corazón histórico de Marrakech, dentro de la medina, y tuvimos el placer de quedarnos en el Riad Tamarrakecht. Os voy a dejar algunas fotos para que os hagáis una idea de cómo es pasar allí unos días. Cuenta con piscina, terraza solarium y en todas las habitaciones hay aire acondicionado. Creedme, no sabéis cómo vais a agradecer disponer de un lugar para daros un baño y una habitación fresquita, en verano hace muchísimo calory es una ciudad muy húmeda, además nos dejaban agua y fruta en las habitaciones, que también están equipadas con neveras, lo que permite que el agua esté fresquita.
El desayuno era realmente maravilloso, preparado de una manera totalmente tradicional, todo casero, natural, con mucho mimo y cuidado. Probamos comida tradicional y nunca nos faltó el te, algo indispensable para ellos. Podéis elegir si tomarlo en los patios o en la terraza exterior. Todo estaba siempre perfecto, lleno de flores, pétalos, frutas,… muy exótico y cuidado. La limpieza es verdaderamente excepcional y cuenta con una buena ubicación, a poco más de un kilómetro de la plaza Jamaa el Fna.
Durante toda la estancia Fatima, sus hermanos y el resto de trabajadores se preocuparon por nosotras, nos dieron todas las facilidades y atenciones. Cuentan con certificado de excelencia en Tripadvisor y después de conocerlos la verdad no nos extraña, ha sido como tener nuestra propia casa en la ciudad, gracias!!

I am back from our trip to Marrakech and with this post I am starting my guide about the city! You know that I love doing it whenever I travel, and this time many have written to me telling me that soon you will visit the city or that you would like to do it and that you have doubts or want to know my experience, so here we go!
This time I will divide the posts by topics, in this I will talk about general issues, accommodation and advice. In the following I will focus on places to visit, excrusions, anecdotes,…
To travel to Marrakech you have many options for flights available, you must also keep in mind that they make offers frequently, so you can find real bargains.
From Madrid the flight lasts about two hours, the official currency is the Moroccan Dirham, you can take money changed or change it there in the same airport. Most of the people there speak Arabic and French, although many also understand English and even some Spanish. Communicating was not a problem, people have a good predisposition and they always made it very easy for us!
Being another continent mobile rates don‘t usually apply as in Spain, what I did was buy me there a prepaid SIM card, costs every GB to one euro, and the minimum I think they are € 10. So you are sure to be connected and always have google maps!
Orientation issue, we didn‘t miss even once (surprising thing the truth haha). We had google maps and Fatima, the owner of our riad, told us perfectly how to get to the square, we learned it and from there it was always easier.
They say that its very common for people to try to guide you or to indicate badly some information about monuments or places of interest, in that sense we were very lucky because none of the two things happened to us.
When choosing your accommodation I recommend taking into account different factors. If you want to soak up the spirit of Morocco, I recommend choosing a riad, you will truly have all the trips in the world to choose a hotel to use. The riad is what could be for us a kind of boutique hotel. They are real palaces. In them, in addition to finding a 100% Moroccan atmosphere you will enjoy the hospitality of the landlords and the tranquility of a smaller accommodation.
We wanted to stay in the historic heart of Marrakech, inside the medina, and had the pleasure of staying at the Riad Tamarrakecht. I’m going to leave you some photos to give you an idea of what it’s like to spend a few days there. It has a pool, sun terrace and air conditioning in all rooms. Believe me, you dont know how you will appreciate having a place to give you a bath and a cool room, in summer its very hot and its a very humid city, in addition they left us water and fruit in the rooms, which are also equipped with refrigerators, which allows the water to be cool.
The breakfast was really wonderful, prepared in a totally traditional way, all homemade, natural, with great care. We tried traditional food and never lacked tea, something essential for them. You can choose whether to take it in the patios or on the outside terrace. Everything was always perfect, full of flowers, petals, fruits,… very exotic and caring. The cleanliness is truly exceptional and has a good location, just over a kilometer from the Jamaa el Fna square.
During the entire stay Fatima, her brothers and the rest of the workers cared for us, gave us all the facilities and attention. They have a certificate of excellence on Tripadvisor and after knowing them, it’s not strange that it’s been like having our own house in the city, thank you!
