Nuestra última escapada consistió en una visita a la capital portuguesa, Lisboa.
Mi primera vez en la ciudad fue allá por 2016, y sólo escribí un par de artículos que podéis ver aquí y aquí.
Llegamos a la ciudad en coche, así que mi primera recomendación es que si hacéis lo mismo os aseguréis bien de comprender como funciona el sistema de peajes portugués (para evitar disgustos). En resumen hay dos tipos de peajes, un como el español, donde veréis que hay una vía verde (por donde NO debéis pasar, y otros carriles para el resto de vehículos, donde pasas y pagas, esos son los buenos). Además hay unos peajes automáticos a través de un sistema de cámaras, mi recomendación es que a través de esta web asociéis vuestro coche a una tarjeta de crédito, para ir más relajados!
Our last getaway consisted of a visit to the Portuguese capital, Lisbon.
My first time in the city was back in 2016, and I only wrote a couple of articles that you can see here and here.
We get to the city by car, so my first recommendation is that if you do the same, make sure you fully understand how the Portuguese toll system works (to avoid disappointment). In summary, there are two types of tolls, one like the Spanish one, where you will see that there is a greenway (where you should NOT pass, and other lanes for the rest of the vehicles, where you pass and pay, those are the good ones). There are also automatic tolls through a camera system, my recommendation is that through this website you associate your car with a credit card, to be more relaxed!
Una vez esto, tenemos que preocuparnos de dónde dormir en la ciudad, y lo cierto es que esta vez no pudimos tener un alojamiento mejor, tanto a nivel de confort como de ubicación. Nos hospedamos en TM Luxury Apartments, son unos apartamentos de reciente inauguración, ubicados en el corazón de la ciudad, a escasos tres minutos a pie de la Praça dos Restauradores.
Los apartamentos están equipados con todo lo necesario: dormitorio, baño privado, cocina, comedor, tv,… Además, y en aras de cubrir todas las necesidades de los posibles huéspedes, existen apartamentos más pequeños y económicos, como en el que nosotros nos alojamos, y otros mucho más grandes (de 100/120 metros cuadrados) pensados para familiar o estancias más largas.
Los apartamentos cuentan además con su propio parking privado, algo que es un verdadero lujo en el centro de Lisboa, ya que aparcar allí es muy caro y muy complicado. A los apartamentos pueden traer cualquier tipo de servicio externo que los huéspedes puedan necesitar.
Once this, we have to look for where to sleep in the city, and the truth is that this time we could not have a better accommodation, both in terms of comfort and location. We stayed at TM Luxury Apartments, they are recently opened apartments, located in the heart of the city, just three minutes walk from Praça dos Restauradores.
The apartments are equipped with everything you need: bedroom, private bathroom, kitchen, dining room, TV,… In addition, and in order to cover all the needs of potential guests, there are smaller and cheaper apartments, like the one we have. we stayed, and others much larger (100/120 square meters) designed for families or longer stays.
The apartments also have their own private parking, something that is a real luxury in the center of Lisbon, since parking there is very expensive and very complicated. They can bring any type of external service that guests may need to the apartments.
Si os gusta la moda, no debéis perderos lo que os voy a contar a continuación: Los apartamentos son propiedad del famoso diseñados portugués Tony Miranda, él ha vestido a numerosos personajes de la aristocracia y el mundo del cine y el espectáculo, por ese motivo todos los apartamentos cuentan con una decoración centrada en su obras, desfiles, diseños,… justamente por eso, a escasos metros, ya en la Avenida Liberdade, se encuentra el atelier de Tony Miranda. Allí, bajo cita previa y de manera totalmente individual y personalizada, su equipo puede ejecutar cualquier tipo de prenda y diseño que el cliente desee.
Tuve la suerte de poder conocer el atelier tanto femenino como masculino, y probarme uno de sus diseños, así como fotografiarlo en el jardín de los apartamentos, y fue un verdadero lujo.
If you like fashion, you should not miss what I am going to tell you below: The apartments are owned by the famous Portuguese designer Tony Miranda, he has dressed numerous characters from the aristocracy and the world of cinema and entertainment, for that reason all the apartments have a decoration focused on his works, fashion shows, designs,… precisely for that reason, just a few meters away, on Avenida Liberdade, is the Tony Miranda atelier. There, by appointment and in a totally individual and personalized way, his team can execute any type of garment and design that the client wishes.
I was lucky enough to get to know the atelier for both women and men, and try on one of their designs, as well as photographing it in the garden of the apartments, and it was a true luxury.
Volviendo a nuestra guía de la ciudad, os diré que con un tiempo de 3 días es absolutamente suficiente para disfrutar Lisboa! Mi recomendación es que el primer día disfrutéis de toda la zona Baixa, o lo que es lo mismo, el centro. Allí no debéis dejar de lado la Praça dos Restauradores, Rúa Augusta, el elevador de Santa Justa o la Praça do Comercio, con sus impresionantes columnas y las maravillosas vistas del puente de 25 de octubre. En esta zona encontraréis también la principal zona comercial y un montón de restaurantes.
Returning to our guide to the city, I will tell you that with a time of 3 days is absolutely enough to enjoy Lisbon! My recommendation is that the first day you enjoy the entire Baixa area, or what is the same, the center. There you should not leave aside the Praça dos Restauradores, Rúa Augusta, the Santa Justa elevator or the Praça do Comercio, with its impressive columns and the wonderful views of the October 25 bridge. In this area you will also find the main shopping area and a lot of restaurants.
El segundo día podéis emplear la mañana en visitar el barrio Alto y el barrio Chiado. Allí encontraréis muchas calles típicas, el elevador de Bica, el convento do Carmo (muy recomendable), así como muchas iglesias y miradores. No dejéis de degustar en esta zona la gastronomía más típica de la ciudad!
The second day you can use the morning to visit the Alto neighborhood and the Chiado neighborhood. There you will find many typical streets, the Bica elevator, the Carmo convent (highly recommended), as well as many churches and viewpoints. Don’t forget to taste in this area the most typical gastronomy of the city!
Después de una buena comida, la tarde es el momento perfecto para conocer el barrio Alfama, con la catedral Se, el mirador de Santa Luzia, el de las puertas del sol o el del castillo de San Jorge. Además (en mi opinión) en la bajada del castillo podéis parar a comprar los pasteis de Belém más ricos de la ciudad, en la pastelería San Antonio!
After a good meal, the afternoon is the perfect time to get to know the Alfama neighborhood, with the Se cathedral, the Santa Luzia viewpoint, the gates of the sun or the San Jorge castle. Also (in my opinion) on the way down from the castle you can stop to buy the richest Belém pastries in the city, at the San Antonio pastry shop!
En vuestro tercer y último día, haced una escapada a la zona más lejana de la ciudad (el coche os vendría super bien) para visitar el Monasterio de los Jerónimos, el momumento a los conquistadores y la famosa (y en mi opinión atracción más bonita de la ciudad) Torre de Belém. Para terminar el día podéis disfrutar del ambiente hipster y alternativo de LX Factory y degustar la tarta de chocolate más rica del mundo en Landeau!
On your third and last day, make a getaway to the farthest part of the city (the car would be very good for you) to visit the Jerónimos Monastery, the monument to the conquerors and the famous (and in my opinion the most beautiful attraction of the city) Torre de Belém. To end the day you can enjoy the hipster and alternative atmosphere of LX Factory and taste the richest chocolate cake in the world in Landeau!
Si pensáis hacer una excursión a alguna zona cercana, os cuento nuestra experiencia. El Palacio da Pena en Sintra es una opción tentadora (y seguro que muy bonita), sin embargo debéis tener en cuenta que esta excursión os tomará absolutamente todo el día. También es muy importante que sepáis (ya que en su web no está indicado), que la única forma de llegar es: aparcar en Sintra (o llegar allí en tren) y una vez allí coger un autobús urbano para subir al palacio. Según me han contado hay que hacer largas colas para subir, así que tomaoslo con calma y tiempo.
Y esto sería mi pequeño resumen para exprimir al máximo la ciudad de Lisboa! Si os gusta y el tiempo os lo permite, podéis disfrutar de una cena con un fado en directo, y si sois unos adictos a las hamburguesas como nosotros, os recomendamos mucho Dallas Burger Joint!

If you plan to go on an excursion to a nearby area, I will tell you about our experience. The Palacio da Pena in Sintra is a tempting option (and surely a very beautiful one), however you must bear in mind that this excursion will take you absolutely all day. It’s also very important that you know (since it is not indicated on its website), that the only way to get there is: park in Sintra (or get there by train) and once there take a city bus to go up to the palace. According to what I have been told there are long queues to go up, so take it easy and time.
And this would be my little summary to make the most of the city of Lisbon! If you like it and time allows you, you can enjoy a dinner with a live fado, and if you are addicted to burgers like us, we highly recommend Dallas Burger Joint!
