I got married a little over a month ago. When we decided that our wedding would take place on September 12th in Madrid, we thought it would be wonderful to host a pre-wedding celebration at one of our favorite spots in the capital: a rooftop terrace. The prospect of enjoying a Madrid sunset, accompanied by great food, music, and friends, was simply too tempting to pass up.
I can tell you that finding a venue that met all our requirements—a specific date and time, a particular capacity, great city views, an appealing culinary offering—was no easy task. After an extensive search, we discovered «El Cielo de la Castellana«—the rooftop terrace at the H10 Tribeca hotel—and, perhaps more importantly, its incredible team.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to Camila and the rest of the hotel staff. Together, they helped make it one of the most magical days of our lives. We were able to enjoy a stunning Madrid sunset surrounded by the people we love, and in many ways, our wedding the following day felt all the more special because of the beautiful start provided by this pre-wedding celebration.
The culinary offering at El Cielo de la Castellana is exquisite. They allowed us to sample the entire menu in advance so we could make any adjustments we felt were necessary. Sometime after the tasting, the chef, Marlon A. Morales, created an absolutely legendary steak tartare; as soon as we tasted it, we knew it had to be part of our pre-wedding menu, and the team went out of their way to make it happen. To this day, our guests still fondly recall the food served during our pre-wedding cocktail reception—especially Marlon’s delicious steak tartare and the exquisite *petit fours* by Alex Cobo. I could eat both every single day for the rest of my life! The great thing about this rooftop terrace is its prime location, offering easy access to all the city’s key spots—from the stunning mountain views to the iconic buildings in the heart of the city.
Thanks to the team at El Cielo de la Castellana, I was also able to pull off one of the biggest surprises of my life: I brought in my boyfriend’s favorite singer, Carlos Escobedo—vocalist for the band Sôber—who performed during the party. It was one of the most thrilling moments of the entire weekend! For all these reasons and more, it’s the perfect rooftop venue for hosting an event in Madrid. And even if you don’t have an event to plan, you can still drop by to enjoy the views and the cuisine—I’m already planning to head back there for dinner soon!
I can honestly say that, thanks to the whole team, our pre-wedding celebration truly brought the famous Madrid saying—»from Madrid to heaven»—to life.
