Second day of adventures in Dubai, today we go to the desert!
Without a doubt one of the obligatory stops for all the tourists that go to any of the Emirates. I had a great desire to see that infinite sand bathed in the scorching sun and, above all, riding a camel.
We
studied a lot of excursions, and in the end we chose to take one that
included the trip to the desert from the hotel, an «optional» walk
through the dunes, camel riding, henna tattoos, a typical arabic dinner
and dance show. Besides
that we also had the option of dressing in traditional clothes or
trying the shisha, it was included in the price, but we didn’t do any
of these last two activities. For now we go step by step.
First of all, I wanted to do the whole desert excursion on a camel. I searched a lot, a lot, and I didn’t find anything, now I understand why. Don’t think that the desert is waiting for you two steps from your hotel,
it’s true that Dubai is a city built on nothing, but as I told you in
the general questions of the first post measures 77km long, so to get to
the desert you need a car.
After
camel riding I will tell you why the excursions in them only last as
much 45 minutes (ours was a mini walk of 4 minutes haha), you are
holding the camel by your hands, only by your hands, so if you you will slice a good trumpet. The sand is not cement, but those bugs are much higher than you are imagining. Besides that I guarantee that the hump of the camel is not at all
soft, so if you have to be long on him it’s possible that you throw the
next days without being able to sit.
The
experience is wonderful, we ride at night, and that is something I didn’t like so much, because I would have loved to ride by day to be able
to see the desert from the heights of the camel. The
moment of getting up and lying down of the animal can’t be described
with words, not even the photo that I have left at the bottom of the
post is enough and graphic. You have to live it, it seems literally that it’s going to take you flying.
What I liked least about the tour is that we shared a car with two
other couples, and we lost a lot of time in taking them to some of the
activities they had chosen (which was why we rode on a camel when the
night had already fallen).
The ride on the 4×4 dunes we did after our driver swore he would go slowly. And even going slowly the thing was to die for. Climbing, descents and lots of adrenaline. If you get dizzy it isn’t a good idea to try this, and also if you have back problems.
Overall
I would like to have had a slightly more private or personal tour, to
enjoy more of the things that interested me the most, but good to have a
touch-up was not bad. At the camp we enjoyed dinner (it was correct, to me the
Arabian food in general is too spicy), the dance show was very showy and
in short we spent a very entertaining day!
In short, if you want a generic tour this type of activities are fine. If you are looking for something more personal you would be happy to try to arrange one exclusively for you.
For this occasion I chose comfortable clothes, prints that were very
tribal to me and that was why I saw them great for the desert, and to
give a trend point a few hoops.
I hope you liked it, lots of kisses!!
