Muchos besos

We are finally back to travel on the December holidays, and nothing makes me more excited than sharing it with you!

This time our getaway was headed for Germany, specifically two cities: Cologne (new for me) and Berlin (which we will talk about in the next post, and where I was already four years ago).

We arrived in Cologne on a Thursday night, we enjoyed all Friday in the city and very early on Saturday we went to Berlin, so in this post I share the essentials in the city and, as always, my favorite places!

I have not visited Cologne in another season, but I think that Christmas is a very good option, make no mistake, we are (very) cold, but the Christmas markets, the lights, etc. They give it a special charm.

We stayed at the 25 Hours The Circle hotel, it’s our second time at this chain (the first was in Florence and you can see it here) and, as on the previous occasion, we couldn’t be happier with our choice. It’s a hotel inspired by the universe and space, with spacious and modern rooms. It’s only a ten minute walk from the Cologne Cathedral and, for me, one of its forts is located on the top floor. Breakfast is served there, which is buffet style, and has a 360 degree panoramic terrace over the amazing city! It’s a pity that the weather was not very good and it was quite cloudy, but on a sunny day the view must be great!

I have a discount of 15% at their main website with code «25h_comeasyouare».

You will find the most beautiful Christmas markets (for my taste) in: the cathedral square, the Heinzels Wintermärchen (in the old town) and the Nerumarkt square, which are precisely three places that you cannot miss !

In addition, you also have to cross the Hohenzollern bridge and let yourself be surprised by the (infinite) number of padlocks that surround it, and take a photo with the perspective of the bridge with the Rhine river and the cathedral in the background, it’s very beautiful!

I think that the city can be seen calmly and without missing anything in 24 hours, then it will depend on the time and tastes of each one to visit museums such as the chocolate or Ludwig. See you in a couple of days to talk about Berlin!

Lots of kisses
